Abhishek Bachchan raps for Mickey Mouse
Thursday, November 19, 2015 20:00 IST

"Yo Mickey it's your birthday. We are gonna party like it's your birthday" - that's how actor Abhishek Bachchan wished Disney's loved character Mickey Mouse on his birthday on Wednesday.

The cine icon Amitabh Bachchan's son, who is often called Junior Bachchan, flaunted his rapping style in a twenty-second video clip while expressing his views about the fictional cartoon character.

The video was released on Disney Channel on Wednesday. In the clip, Abhishek is also seen saying that "Mickey you are the best".

Mickey Mouse has been spreading happiness and creating wonderful memories for children and families all over the world.

In fact, Disney Channel planned a big birthday bash for the character in 18 different ways. Fans from across the country have wished him 18 native local languages.

Meanwhile, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'little angel' Aaradhya turned four on November 16, and her parents threw a 'princess-themed party' for their daughter.
Secret Revealed: Why Farhan opted out of SRK's 'Raees'
Thursday, November 19, 2015 19:00 IST
Actor Farhan Akhtar says he chose to opt out of Shah Rukh Khan's forthcoming "Raees" as he did not want to play a police officer again. The 41-year-old "Dil Dhadakne Do" star will be seen as an ATS officer in Bejoy Nambiar's "Wazir", which also stars Amitabh Bachchan.

When asked if playing the role of a cop again was the reason why he did not do "Raees", Farhan said, "Yes, absolutely right. Raees was supposed to happen at a very different time. It was not about not wanting to play a police officer in it, it was about not wanting to do it immediately. So it would've been the next thing I would have shot for (after Wazir)," he told reporters. The actor was speaking at the trailer launch of "Wazir".

Farhan, who is co-producing "Raees" through his banner Excel Entertainment, said he was a bit "uncomfortable" to play a similar character but is happy actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is doing the part now.

"I was a bit uncomfortable with that. The two are completely different projects but more or less you're playing the same kind of character. The foundation is the same so I didn't want to do it. But it's fantastic because we have Nawazuddin who is playing that character, he is a fantastic actor."

Farhan also said that currently he has no plans to make "Don 3". "No plans yet. I've always maintained I have enjoyed writing that character.. he is a very exciting character to write for and I had a tremendous time working with Shah Rukh. Hopefully something will come along. But I really don't have a plan."

The actor, however, did not divulge any details regarding the cast. "I don't have a script so its very difficult for me to tell you who will be in it. Don will definitely be in it. Apart from that it depends on what characters are there in the film."
Review: 'Singh Is Bliing' is an out and out Akshay film
Friday, October 02, 2015 16:24 IST
By Santa Banta News Network
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Lara Dutta, Kay Kay Menon

Director: Prabhudheva

Rating: **1/2

'Singh is Bliing', if described in two words, is random and silly. But, fortunately, it is this randomness that also makes it a breezy, entertaining film for most part of it.

It is a Prabhudheva directorial. Looking at the kind of movies that the dancing director revels in, you know you can't take this one any more seriously than perhaps a second grader's opinion on world politics. However, it is not cerebral by any standards but, for sure, raises a lot of chuckles in its two-hour plus duration, all credit to its silliness and the casual way in which it is treated. If you want to know how silly is silly, picture this: When a lion escapes, an adorable pug with a feathery bag around its neck is kept in the cage as its replacement to fool the public. But, must say, this and a few other such antics made the audience around me laugh out loud.

Raftar Singh (Akshay Kumar) is a clueless young chap who whiles away his time with his cronies and basking in the blind love of his mother (Rati Agnihotri). His dad (decent performance by Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh) wants him to get away and make a life for himself. Father's pressure lands Raftar in Goa along with his two bumbling, idiotic close friends.

It is in Goa that Raftar meets Sara (Amy Jackson), who's been bundled off from Romania by her father (Kunal Kapoor) to get away from the unwanted attention of the bad man Mark (Kay Kay Menon). Raftar falls in love with Sara but they can't speak each other's language, so a translator Emily (Lara Dutta) is appointed, who only adds to confusion and chaos of the situation.

Raftar Singh, thankfully, is not your superhero who jumps in to save the world at a moment's notice (except in the climax where everything goes for a toss anyway). And better than that, Sara fights like a tigress and does not depend on a male to protect her honour. And she actually rescues Raftar from a tricky situation. Mark is brutal but too comical to be taken seriously.

This is an out and out Akshay Kumar film. No surprise there. And the actor, whose comic timing is already established, is in his element here. Amy Jackson's easy and very pleasant presence adds to the film. She is fantastic when she's kicking ass and other body parts of bad men who cross her path.
